Biography
Shaviv completed his LLB degree at the University of South Africa in 2005 and he was subsequently admitted as Solicitor with right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa. Later, Shaviv was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW, Australia, and a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, Auckland Registry.
Over the past 17 years, Shaviv worked as a Director and Partner at various prestigious law firms including his own firm which he co-founded in South Africa before moving to Australia.
Throughout his career, Shaviv has worked on substantive contentious commercial and building and construction matters, including matters which were successfully opposed at the Supreme Court of Appeal in South Africa. Shaviv’s vast experience includes resolving disputes and providing advice arising from NEC, FIDIC, Australian Standards, and commercial contracts. Shaviv has represented clients at various forums and tribunals, including, among others, the High Court, Supreme Court, various Civil and Administrative Tribunals, SOPA Adjudications, Arbitrations and Mediation. Shaviv’s multinational skills and expertise hold him in good stead with his peers in the legal profession.

Shaviv received the Best Lawyers award for Litigation, Johannesburg, for the periods 2020/2021, 2021/2022, and 2022/2023 and he is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK.
